NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. – Just weeks after Big and Rich rocked the 4th Annual Block Island Country Fest, Ballard’s, along with Whalers Brewing Company, is at it again – hosting their second Block Island Reggae Fest to be held on Victory Day.
You don’t need to head to the Caribbean to experience some island vibes! Just grab a ferry ride and daytrip to Block Island on August 12, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and sway to the music of five great reggae bands on Ballard’s private beach! This year’s lineup includes Mighty Mystic, Anthem, Hope Road, Soul Shot and Root Steady!
Even better, Block Island Reggae Fest is being held on Victory Day – which is a holiday for many Rhode Island businesses. So, it’s like a one day vacation without the plane ride!
Mighty Mystic
Mighty Mystic is considered one of the leaders in the U.S. Reggae scene and labeled by many as one of the more prolific artists to develop outside of Jamaica. He has done over 20 national tours and several international tours. Mystic has toured and/or shared the stage with Ziggy Marley, Steel Pulse, Damian Marley, Buju Banton, Stephen Marley, Shaggy, SOJA, Toots and the Maytals, Collie Buddz, Sean Paul, Lee Scratch Perry, Barrington Levy, The Wailers, John Brownʼs Body, Luciano, Third World, Freddie McGregor, Capleton, Badfish, the Dirty Heads and the list goes on and on and on…
It is this unique spin on classic reggae blended with Hip Hop & Rock that has catapulted him to the forefront of today’s Reggae Revival.
